I've been there. I was so unhappy with my job as a lawyer, I would get that horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach most Sunday nights because I dreaded going to the office on Monday. One of my regular nightly activities was perusing job sites. I was stressed out, and felt like I wasn't doing anything well at work or at home. Yet, I appeared to be thriving. I was getting successful outcomes on cases, my clients and employers were happy with my work, and I received regular raises and bonuses. I should have been happy!
But I wasn't. I changed jobs a couple times, moving from one law firm to another hoping for a different outcome. The moves seemed successful at first, but before long I'd be right back to feeling miserable. I'd fantasize about starting a new career, but after 12 years of trying to love a career I didn't, my confidence was next to nothing.
That's when I hired a career coach and started learning the tools I wish I'd known from the beginning - tools that could have helped me properly evaluate my unique abilities, my core values, and my own definition of success. That's when it all changed for me. And now my mission is to pass that good stuff onto you.
